Lay Delegate to the Memphis Annual Conference
Lay Delegates represent our church, along with our pastors, at legislative sessions of the Annual Conference. During the annual meeting, a variety of proposals are considered on issues and policies that will have impact on United Methodist churches across the West to Middle Tennessee area. This coming year’s meeting will be held in Northside UMC in Jackson Tn, from June 12-15, 2016. Lay Delegates should have an interest in Selmer First’s vision of denominational renewal and be able to commit to multiday out-of-town Annual Conference meetings. Thank you for your interest in serving as an elected leader at Selmer FUMC. The committee positions listed below are just one way to serve at Resurrection. To consider other areas of service, please select the “Missions” link.
Committee members typically serve a three-year term as a voting member. The process of considering a role of Christian leadership is one of discernment. Be mindful that the journey of Christian discernment is ongoing. Our great purpose is living in God’s desire. Continuing on that path requires an enduring relationship with God.
To forward your name for consideration, please contact our Church Lay Leader Jim Stackhouse — jbstackhouse@yahoo.com
